Acid house legend Danny Rampling will be closing Sankeys Ibiza’s Dance 88/89 party this Wednesday.

Dance 88/89 harkens back to the summer of acid house, bringing a sense of nostalgia to those who experienced it firsthand, and introducing the second summer of love to a young audience for the first time.

Danny Rampling certainly falls into the former category. As one of acid house’s original architects, Rampling’s first trip to Ibiza is the stuff of legend. Along with Paul Oakenfold, Nicky Holloway and Johnny Walker, Danny Rampling discovered what we now know as the Balearic style of DJing, largely influenced by an Argentinian DJ named Alfredo.

With this in mind, it is fitting that Rampling should be closing Dance 88/89 on the same bill as Alfredo himself, who has been a resident at the event. Other DJs playing sets at the closing party include Bushwacka, Graeme Park and Mr C.

The Dance 88/89 closing party will take place on Wednesday 28th September. For anyone in Ibiza at that time, this party will be worth your while. As Danny proved with his Forever Acid House mix, the spirit of the late 90s will never grow old.
