Boogie / disco / house talent Floating Points has teamed up with audio company Isonoe to create a high-end mixer called the FP Mixer.
The mixer was designed to compliment top quality sound systems – the team behind it believing that no mixer available on the general market provided a high enough sound and build quality to make the most out of the best systems and the best records.
They claim it features many ‘world firsts’ in terms of DJ mixers, with careful attention paid to the internal circuitry to ensure the most direct signal path from the records to the soundsystem – which they claim produces a better, punchier sound.
A test model of this new mixer has actually been installed in the booth at London’s Plastic People, where Floating Points has a residency, for a couple of months now.
