Tekashi 6ix9ine links up with Nicki Minaj for "Trollz" | Live | News | MN2S

Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine has once again officially teamed up with fellow rapper Nicki Minaj, to release a new track titled “Trollz”.

Despite the current global situation, Tekashi 6ix9ine has remained prolific, managing to release two tracks in the last month. His most recent, “Trollz”, sees the rapper team up with Nicki Minaj. Due to current social distancing guidelines, the music video was filmed in one of his guest bedrooms, transforming the room into a technicolour funhouse packed with a various assortment of brightly coloured props.

Throughout the vibrantly colourful new video, both rappers attempt to address their haters concerns with direct shots in their lyrics. 6ix9ine raps: “I know you don’t like me, you wanna fight me, You don’t want no problems at your party, don’t invite me” as he executes a lyrical shot at one of his notorious adversaries, Philadelphia rapper Meek Mill. Nicki soon joins in on the lyrical rampage that the verses create. “They get nervous when it’s Nicki on the roster,” Minaj writes. “My flow’s still sick, I ain’t talkin’ a pandemic/I write my own lyrics, a lot of these bitches gimmicks/They study Nicki style, now all of them want to mimic”. Here, Nicki delivers another clever verse, utilizing her solid flow and creative wordplay. This track is about as self-assured as one could get.

The duo has admirably decided to donate a portion of its proceeds to the Bail Project, a national nonprofit that helps to pay bail for those in need. It appears that these trolls do have a sweet side. Speaking about the decision to donate, the rapper wrote: “The fund provides free bail assistance to low-income individuals who can’t afford to pay bail while awaiting their trial. We want to protect and support the thousands of brave people working on the front lines of social justice, using their voices to demand AN END to the targeting and killing of Black Americans by the police. #BlackLivesMatter.”
