MN2S Artists to Watch in 2017

After a great 2016, here are 4 MN2S artists to watch in 2017.

2016 has been a great year for artists on the MN2S booking agency live roster and DJ roster, with many of them having big hits on the radio and in the clubs, and with every artist playing the best shows imaginable. Based on this great success, 2017 is set to be even better. Here are 4 of our most rapidly rising artists to keep an eye on next year.

1. TIEKS

London DJ, singer and songwriter TIEKS has been quietly making waves since the release of his debut single in 2014. ‘Sing That Song’ featured Celeste on vocals, was released on Atlantic Records and entered the UK charts.

The next year, TIEKS put out the stellar single ‘Sunshine’ which featured vocalist Dan Harkna on Eton Messy Records. The track was successful enough to be signed by Ministry of Sound. The Ministry rereleased it in 2016, equipped with a brand new sausage dog-filled video and TIEKS entered the charts once again.

As the soundtrack to a popular Fiat 500 advert, ‘Sunshine’ rose to the top of the Shazam charts, as TV viewers scrambled for their phones to identify the song during advert breaks. With this increased exposure, ‘Sunshine’ went on to dominate the radio airwaves as the song of the summer, and its popularity never wavered.

TIEKS will be rounding off 2016 with a performance on Alan Carr’s New Year’s Eve Specstacular, ready to follow up his hit single with another hugely successful year. After ‘Sunshine’, there is no stopping TIEKS.

2. Paigey Cakey

With three mixtapes under her belt and an impressive acting portfolio to boot, Paigey Cakey has grown a large loyal fanbase over the course of her career, eager to follow her every move on social media.

2016 saw Paige hone in her focus on her music, releasing a stellar string of songs and videos including the much-hyped ‘Boogie’ (above) and the recent smash ‘Boyfriend’. She also dropped the RED EP, a strongly coherent body of work. These songs have seen her take her rapping to the next level and establish her as a serious grime contender; much more than just another actor-turned-musician.

Selling out shows all over the country this year, including a massive and memorable appearance at O2 Islington, Paigey Cakey is primed for 2017 to be the biggest year yet of her music career.

3. Dyo

Dyo has been a major player behind the scenes in the music industry since breaking through in 2009. She has collaborated with the likes of Chip and Iggy Azalea, and co-wrote with Wiley on his 2013 album The Ascent.

She officially launched her solo career under the name of Ms D in 2014, releasing the EP Resonance which featured underground hit ‘My Pen’.

2016 saw the artist adopt the name Dyo and sign a major deal with Warner/Chappell Music. With the faith of such a big label behind her, Dyo will be unstoppable in 2017. She has already proven her potential as a singer of pop/R&B hits with the track ‘Sexual’, released by Swedish producer Neikid, co-written and sang by Dyo herself.

The track racked up millions of plays and hours of radio airtime, and it established Dyo as a major potential hitmaker. With Warner/Chappell behind her and a whole new identity to show the world, the pieces are all in place for Dyo to make a major impact next year.

4. Mista Silva

British-Ghanaian Afrobeats artist Mista Silva is the next on our list of artists due to blow up in 2017. Mista Silva has already made his mark on the Afrobeats scene with the 2012 EP Full Vim, and 2015’s Let It Off EP set. His music has received airplay and acclaim from the likes of BBC 1Xtra, and he has seen hugely positive coverage from The Guardian, Wonderland and i-D magazine.

In 2015 Mista Silva embarked on a major tour, playing many of Europe’s biggest festivals, including Roslindale and Glastonbury. This year he teamed up with The Street’s Mike Skinner to form Tonga Balloon Gang, which whom he toured and released the underground hits ‘Goes Off’ and ‘Lifestyle’.

The end of the year saw the much anticipated release of Mista Silva’s solo single ‘Murda’. Full of positive vibes and infectious energy, ‘Murda’ has set the bar high for the artist’s long awaited debut album, likely to drop in 2017, just as Mista Silva’s career hits new heights.

With these four artists on board and many more, MN2S is set to have a storming 2017. Visit our booking agency roster now to read more about all of our artists, and book TIEKS, Paigey Cakey, Dyo or Mista Silva now to catch these legends-in-the-making.
