MN2S artist DJ Jazzy Jeff will headline a concert at the 2016 Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia on Thursday 28th July.

The Grammy-winning DJ will headline the Camden Rising concert alongside Lady Gaga and Lenny Kravitz. The concert will be taking place just hours before Hillary Clinton formally accepts the presidential nomination from the Democratic Party.

DNC organiser George E. Norcross III says the concert will be “an excellent opportunity for everyone who has helped make the convention a success to relax and celebrate,” and “a great chance to show the country Camden’s amazing turnaround.”

DJ Jazzy Jeff has been dedicated to supporting his home state throughout his career, so it is no surprise to see him performing at the Philadelphia event. While the Democratic Convention will be taking place in Philadelphia itself, Camden Rising will be held across the river in Camden, New Jersey, against the backdrop of the Philly skyline.

The Camden Rising performance will take place after DJ Jazzy Jeff opens for fellow Philadelphian Nelly on Monday 25th at a DNC week fundraiser for the charity Musicians On Call, which helps send musicians to hospitals, hospices and nursing homes.
