Anya Marina

Anya Marina’s musical career achieved early recognition with her debut full-length album, Miss Halfway, released on January 25, 2005, which garnered a San Diego Music Award for Best Recording. Prior to this, Marina had cultivated her performance skills through various creative endeavors, including acting classes at the British American Drama Academy and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, leading to early film credits such as 100 Girls. She also honed her craft as a DJ at KSCU and XHRM-FM, before focusing on songwriting and performing at open mic nights in San Diego. Following her initial five-song EP, Exercises in Racketeering, Marina toured as an opener for artists including Jason Mraz, Juliana Hatfield, and Rhett Miller.

Her music has since been extensively licensed for numerous high-profile television shows, including Grey’s Anatomy, How I Met Your Mother, Gossip Girl, The Vampire Diaries, and 13 Reasons Why. Expanding her touring footprint, Marina has taken her performances on the road with acclaimed comedians such as Nikki Glaser, showcasing her versatility across indie rock, indie pop, and alternative rock genres. A prolific artist, Marina has released multiple studio albums and EPs, in addition to her live album, Live and Alone in New York, which debuted on February 19, 2021. She continues to establish her presence across both the music and entertainment industries, with her latest single, Asteroid, slated for release on October 25, 2024, demonstrating her ongoing creative output and relevance.
