Cosmic Gate, the renowned German DJ duo consisting of Claus Terhoeven (Nic Chagall) and Stefan Bossems (DJ Bossi), has been a driving force in the trance music scene since their formation in 1999. Their journey began with the release of their debut single “The Drums,” followed by iconic tracks such as “Exploration of Space” and their celebrated remix of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.” These early works laid the foundation for their ascent in the electronic music landscape, culminating in a peak position of No. 19 on DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs list in 2009.

As their career progressed, Cosmic Gate expanded their repertoire, producing numerous remixes for notable artists including Tiësto and Ferry Corsten. Their sound evolved from hard-edged trance to a more progressive style, particularly evident in their third studio album, “Earth Mover.” This shift not only showcased their versatility but also solidified their status as innovators within the genre. In 2014, they launched “Wake Your Mind Radio,” a podcast that further connected them with their global fanbase.

In 2015, Cosmic Gate collaborated with Armin van Buuren on the track “Embargo,” featured on his album “Embrace.” Their continued success led to the release of their seventh studio album, “Materia,” in 2017, which received critical acclaim and showcased their artistic growth. Notably, they earned a Grammy nomination in 2018 for their remix of Gabriel & Dresden’s “Only Road,” marking a historic moment as the first trance artists nominated in this category.

With over 1,000 live performances worldwide, Cosmic Gate has captivated audiences at prestigious venues and festivals, sharing stages with industry giants like Hardwell and Ferry Corsten. Their commitment to pushing the boundaries of trance music, combined with their dynamic performances, ensures that Cosmic Gate remains a beloved and influential name in the electronic music scene.
