Faze Action, composed of brothers Simon and Robin Lee, has evolved from a studio-based duo to an eight-piece live band, consistently delivering dance music that blends house, funk, disco, and jazz. After the release of their Original Disco Motion EP in 1995, Faze Action, composed of brothers Simon and Robin Lee, quickly gained traction with support from influential DJs like François Kevorkian. This initial success led to securing a contract with Nuphonic Records between 1995 and 1996. In 1996, the duo produced ‘In the Trees,’ a track that significantly increased their exposure and remains one of their most recognized works.
Following this, Faze Action released their debut album, Plans and Designs, in 1997. Their distinct sound, characterized by its fusion of house music with Western classical, pan-African, and Latin influences, garnered further industry attention. This resulted in a US licensing deal for their 1999 album, Moving Cities, with F-111/Warner Bros. Records.
They followed this with the 2009 album Stratus Energy, recognized for its 1980s disco vocals and synths, and the Body of One LP in 2014, which included remixes by Phil Mison, Dicky Trisco, Chuggy, and Eric Duncan. Maintaining a consistent presence as DJs, the Lee brothers signed with the MN2S agency in early 2015, solidifying their booking profile and expanding their global reach. Demonstrating their enduring legacy and ongoing creative output, Faze Action released a career-spanning ‘best of’ compilation, Faze Action Presents – Disco Excursions Vol. 1, in 2018.
Simon and Robin Lee have continued to release new music into 2024, reinforcing their sustained impact within the global dance music genre and commitment to their craft.
