Nimmo

Nimmo is a London-based electronic music duo, consisting of Sarah Nimmo and Reva Gauntlett, who create anthemic dance music drawing from ’80s and ’90s queer pop, and have collaborated with artists like TSHA. After signing with Sony directly out of university based on a single track, electronic music duo Nimmo, then known as Nimmo & the Gauntlets, launched their official discography in 2014 with early singles ‘Jaded’ and ‘Others.’ Comprising Sarah Nimmo and Reva Gauntlett, the duo quickly followed this with additional singles ‘Dilute This’ (2015) and ‘UnYoung’ (2015), establishing their presence in the electronic music scene. Their early professional success validated their unique sound, which draws from ’80s and ’90s queer pop influences, crafting anthemic dance music. Nimmo continued their prolific output with the release of the extended play ‘Room 5 Sessions’ in 2016, featuring tracks like ‘Touch Me,’ ‘My Only Friend,’ and ‘Dancing Makes Us Brave.’ This was followed by the ‘Songs from the Credits’ EP in 2018, which included singles such as ‘Too Late,’ ‘Orange Skies,’ and ‘It’s Easier.’ In 2019, the band refined its structure to the core duo of Sarah Nimmo and Reva Gauntlett, leading to a more focused artistic direction and the release of their highly anticipated debut studio album, ‘The Power.’ The album featured prominent singles including ‘No More,’ ‘Everything I Wanted,’ and the title track ‘The Power.’ Further solidifying their discography, Nimmo released singles such as ‘Place to Rent’ (2019), ‘Do I Have to Learn It?’ (2020), and ‘Come Back’ (2020).

With a distinct sound deeply influenced by UK bass and grime artists, combined with the lyrical sensibilities of indie bands, Nimmo remains committed to creating music with longevity, recognized for their contribution to the evolving space for queer identity within pop music.
