Annie Macmanus has established a distinguished career as a DJ, broadcaster, and writer, culminating in various recognized achievements. After airing her first program on BBC Radio 1 on July 29, 2004, Annie Mac went on to establish herself as a leading voice in broadcasting. During her tenure at BBC Radio 1, she hosted significant shows including BBC Switch, ‘Radio 1’s Future Sounds’ – which championed new dance-pop, hip-hop, rock, and indie music – and ‘Radio 1’s Dance Party’ on Friday nights. Her live presence was solidified with her first set at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend in 2006, the same year she co-presented ‘Top of the Pops’ with Reggie Yates in June and Rufus Hound in July.

This success was followed by her second novel, The Mess We’re In, published in May 2023. Expanding her live performance footprint, she supported Harry Styles at Slane Castle in 2023, further cementing her reputation as a dynamic performer beyond her acclaimed DJ sets. Building on her diverse portfolio, Annie Mac launched the BBC Sounds podcast ‘Sidetracked with Annie and Nick’ alongside Nick Grimshaw in September 2023. This latest venture continues to showcase her insightful commentary and engaging personality, reinforcing her position as a multi-faceted talent across broadcasting, literature, and live music.
