Gorgon City, an electronic music duo from North London, consists of producers Kye “Foamo” Gibbon and Matt “RackNRuin” Robson-Scott. The duo officially began their collaboration in 2012, releasing their first collaborative effort, “The Crypt EP,” featuring artists Navigator, Rubi Dan, and Janai, on February 27, 2012. This initial release laid the groundwork for their subsequent musical endeavors.
A significant milestone in their early career occurred on February 17, 2013, with the release of the “Real EP,” featuring Yasmin. The lead track from this EP entered the UK Singles Chart at number 44 and the UK Indie Chart at number 7, bringing them broader recognition. Their debut studio album, “Sirens,” released on October 6, 2014, reached number 10 on the UK Albums Chart and included notable singles like “Ready for Your Love” with MNEK, which peaked at number 4 on the UK Singles Chart, and “Here for You” featuring Laura Welsh, climbing to number 7.
Throughout their career, Gorgon City has consistently produced material that resonates within both mainstream music and the club scene. Their second studio album, “Escape,” released on August 10, 2018, continued their trajectory with collaborations involving artists such as Vaults, Duke Dumont, and Naations. Their subsequent albums, “Olympia” (2021) and “Salvation” (2023), further solidified their presence in electronic music. In 2024, they announced a stylistic shift to focus on “pure club music,” aiming to deepen their engagement with the core elements of club culture while maintaining their signature sound. They have also established REALM Publishing in partnership with Sony Music Publishing, expanding their influence in the music industry.
