What So Not

What So Not has established himself as a prominent electronic music producer and DJ, performing at major festivals and producing acclaimed tracks. After establishing itself as a prominent electronic music project in 2010, What So Not released its debut EP, 7 Dollar Bill, in November 2011, followed by acclaimed remixes for artists including Peking Duk and Major Lazer. The project undertook its ‘Massive Universe Tour’ across Australia in 2013, preceding the May 2013 release of its second EP, The Quack, which featured Action Bronson. What So Not released the single ‘Jaguar’ in 2013 and collaborated with RL Grime on the single ‘Tell Me’ in June 2014.

What So Not’s highly anticipated debut solo album, Not All the Beautiful Things, arrived in March 2018, showcasing collaborations with artists including Skrillex, Slumberjack, San Holo, and Toto. The album featured singles such as ‘Stuck In Orbit’ with Jono Ma and the award-winning ‘Beautiful’ with Winona Oak, which earned the AIR Award for Best Independent Dance, Electronica Or Club Single in 2019. Following the album, What So Not embarked on a national Australian tour and released the single ‘We Can Be Friends’ with Herizen in 2019. The project re-emerged in 2021 with a remix for Run The Jewels, featuring Pharrell Williams and Zack de la Rocha, alongside a new track, ‘The Change,’ featuring DMA’s.

Building on this momentum, What So Not released the album Anomaly in 2022. That same year, the project earned the Video of the Year award at the Queensland Music Awards for ‘Every Single Time.’ Most recently, What So Not unveiled the Motions EP in August 2024, a dynamic collection featuring collaborations with artists including Lucy Lucy, MNDR, IMANU, Habstrakt, and Maiah Manser.
