I See Stars, originating from Warren, Michigan, in 2006, established themselves as a significant force in the electronicore scene. The band, comprising lead vocalist Devin Oliver, guitarist Brent Allen, keyboardist and co-vocalist Andrew Oliver, and bass guitarist Jeff Valentine, signed with Sumerian Records in 2008. Their debut album, “3-D” (2009), quickly gained attention, charting at No. 176 on the Billboard 200. This early success was followed by “The End of the World Party” in 2011, further cementing their unique blend of post-hardcore, metalcore, and electronic music. The band consistently engaged in extensive touring, participating in major events such as the Warped Tour and The Artery Foundation Across the Nation tour, demonstrating their dedication to performing live and connecting with their audience.
The band’s musical evolution was evident with their third studio album, “Digital Renegade” (2012), which featured a more aggressive sound and saw them collaborate with notable artists like dubstep producer BARE. This period also highlighted their consistent studio work, often recording new material between tours. Their fourth album, “New Demons” (2013), continued this aggressive trend while incorporating more prominent EDM elements. Despite lineup changes, including the departure of long-time members Jimmy Gregerson and Zach Johnson in 2015, I See Stars adapted, with Devin Oliver taking on both clean and unclean vocal duties and Andrew Oliver transitioning to keyboards. This resilience led to their fifth studio album, “Treehouse” (2016), which was followed by an acoustic EP, “Treehouse (Acoustic)”, in 2018.
In recent years, I See Stars has maintained an active presence, touring with various acts and continuing to release new music. They have announced a new album, “The Wheel”, slated for release in 2025, demonstrating their ongoing commitment to their craft and fanbase. Their persistent touring schedule, including international dates in Australia, Asia, and North America, underscores their global reach and consistent engagement with diverse audiences. The band’s ability to evolve their sound while staying true to their electronicore roots has allowed them to remain relevant in a dynamic music landscape.
