Jes Brieden, born on May 10, 1974, in New York City, began her musical journey by studying art and singing. She immersed herself in music production at friends’ studios, recording her first vocals as a reference singer and working as a backup vocalist for major labels by age 16. This early exposure to the music industry laid the groundwork for her extensive career. In 2001, while working in Los Angeles, Jes co-founded Guardians of the Earth with Mike Olson, producing tracks like “Star Children” and “One Moon Circling.” “Star Children” was featured on Paul van Dyk’s 2001 album, “The Politics of Dancing,” marking an early career milestone before gaining broader recognition.
Her career significantly advanced in 2003 when she co-founded Motorcycle with Josh Gabriel and Dave Dresden. Their hit single, “As the Rush Comes,” released in 2003, achieved number one status on Billboard’s Hot Dance Airplay chart in 2004 and became the year-end number one Dance Airplay track. This success provided Jes with international exposure, leading to performances at major festivals globally, including the Bacardi Festival (Lebanon), Fresh (Malta), and the World Electronic Music Festival (Toronto). She also performed on “Top of The Pops” in the UK alongside artists like Beyoncé.
Since 2006, Jes has pursued a solo career, signing with Tiësto’s Black Hole Recordings and releasing her debut solo album, “Disconnect.” She collaborated with Tiësto on his “Elements of Life” album with the song “Everything” and toured with him worldwide.
