03 Greedo, born Jason Jamal Jackson, is a dynamic American rapper and singer-songwriter hailing from Los Angeles, California. He initially embarked on his musical journey under the alias Greedy Giddy, during which he self-released six mixtapes, including the notable “Everybody Weak” and “Money, Powder, Regrets.” His early work showcased a unique blend of Southern rap influences, characterized by melodic trap instrumentals and auto-tuned harmonics, establishing a solid foundation for his future endeavors.
In 2016, Greedo rebranded himself as 03 Greedo and launched his own label, Golden Grenade Empire. This pivotal move allowed him to self-produce two impactful mixtapes, “Purple Summer” and “Purple Summer 2: Sun Don’t Shine,” which garnered significant attention. His prolific output continued with three additional mixtapes in 2017, culminating in a million-dollar contract with Alamo Records. The release of “The Wolf of Grape Street” in March 2018 further solidified his reputation as a rising star in the hip-hop scene.
Despite facing legal challenges that led to a 20-year prison sentence in 2018, 03 Greedo remained remarkably productive. He recorded a vault of over 3,000 songs, ensuring his artistic voice continued to resonate. His collaborations with prominent artists, including a joint EP with Travis Barker and a mixtape with Kenny Beats, showcased his versatility and commitment to his craft.
After his release in January 2023, 03 Greedo wasted no time in returning to the music scene. He released the single “Bacc Like I Never Left” and his fifth studio album, “Halfway There,” shortly thereafter. With a unique sound and an unwavering work ethic, 03 Greedo continues to captivate audiences and redefine the boundaries of hip-hop.
