Following the release of their self-titled album ‘311’ in 1995, which achieved triple platinum status and reached number 12 on the Billboard 200, 311 solidified their position as a dominant force in alternative rock. The albums success was driven by hit singles such as ‘Down,’ which topped the Billboard Hot Modern Rock Tracks in 1996, and ‘All Mixed Up.’ The band, comprising vocalist/guitarist Nick Hexum, lead guitarist Tim Mahoney, bassist Aaron ‘P-Nut’ Wills, drummer Chad Sexton, and vocalist/turntablist Doug ‘SA’ Martinez, had signed with Capricorn Records in 1992, subsequently releasing ‘Music’ in 1993 and ‘Grassroots’ in 1994. In 1995, 311 made their network television debut on ‘Late Night with Conan O’Brien’, marking a significant milestone in their burgeoning career. Building on this momentum, 311 released ‘Transistor’ in 1997, which debuted at number 4 on the Billboard 200 and quickly achieved platinum certification.
That same year, the band premiered the documentary ‘Enlarged to Show Detail 3’ in theaters, offering fans an intimate look into their journey. Demonstrating their continued creative output, 311 released their first new single since 2019, ‘You’re Gonna Get It,’ in 2024, ahead of their 14th studio album, ‘Full Bloom,’ released the same year. The band remains a powerhouse in the rock scene, continually delivering new music and engaging experiences for their worldwide audience.
