A-Lin

A-Lin, born Lisang Pacidal Koyouan, is a Taiwanese singer and songwriter of Amis descent, renowned for her powerful vocals and emotive performances. Bursting onto the music scene in February 2006 with her debut album “Lovelorn, Not Guilty” under Avex Taiwan, A-Lin quickly captivated audiences with her unique blend of Mandopop, pop, rock, and R&B.

A-Lin’s journey to stardom is marked by resilience and talent. Discovered at 16 years old for her remarkable rendition of “Amazing Grace” after the 1999 Jiji earthquake, fate intervened when her agent was initially unavailable. However, destiny brought them together four years later in a bar where she showcased her vocal prowess, leading to a well-deserved singing contract.

Often hailed as the next A-Mei, an influential aboriginal singer, A-Lin’s nickname “A Born Diva” speaks volumes about her innate talent. Inspired by A-Mei, she covers her songs in shows and concerts, paying homage to her idol.

A-Lin’s international appeal was evidenced by her sold-out concert at the Sydney Town Hall in 2012, where fans from across cities flocked to witness her captivating performance. Transitioning to Sony Music after leaving Avex Taiwan, she continued her musical journey, releasing albums that garnered critical acclaim.

Her participation in the third season of “I Am a Singer” in 2015 further showcased her vocal prowess, earning her recognition and boosting her career. A-Lin’s talent has been celebrated with awards, including the prestigious Best Mandarin Female Singer at the 34th Golden Melody Awards in 2023, solidifying her status as a powerhouse in the Mandarin-speaking world.
