Adam Milne

Born on 13 April 1992, in Palmerston North, New Zealand, Adam Fraser Milne developed an early passion for cricket, attending Palmerston North Intermediate Normal School and Palmerston North Boys’ High School. His professional cricket career began at 18 when he made his first-class debut for Central Districts in the 2009/10 season against Canterbury, taking a wicket with his second ball. Milne has consistently played for Central Districts throughout his career, balancing club commitments with his national duties and navigating periods of injury.

Milne’s international career with the New Zealand Cricket Team started in 2010. Early in his career, he impressed critics with his pace, consistently bowling in excess of 150 km/h. He was a valuable member of the New Zealand squad that finished as runners-up in the 2015 Cricket World Cup and the 2021 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. Domestically, he has played for numerous teams in various T20 leagues globally, including Royal Challengers Bangalore, Kent County Cricket Club, Sydney Thunder, Mumbai Indians, Birmingham Phoenix, Chennai Super Kings, Washington Freedom, Melbourne Stars, Rajasthan Royals, and London Spirit. His performances include setting a new record for Kent’s best T20 bowling figures with 5/11 against Somerset in 2017 and taking a hat-trick for Kent against Surrey in 2021.

His career progression also includes securing contracts with New Zealand Cricket for seasons like 2018–19 and achieving significant milestones such as his maiden five-wicket haul in international cricket against Sri Lanka in April 2023. While injuries have occasionally impacted his availability, such as being ruled out of the 2015 Indian Premier League and the 2023 ODI series against England, Milne has consistently returned to perform at a high level. He remains a prominent fast bowler in white-ball cricket for New Zealand and various T20 franchises.
