Adeline Michèle Pétricien, known professionally as Adi Oasis, was born on May 17, 1985, in Saint-Mandé, Île-de-France, France, and raised in a Paris suburb. She began performing professionally in a choir at age five, making numerous television appearances and touring France. As a teenager, she learned guitar and started composing, leading her to move to New York City to pursue music. In New York, she initially worked as a model and DJ. Her music career began with forming “The Crowd,” where she unexpectedly became a bassist, which developed into her signature instrument. She later became the lead singer of “Escort,” a nu-disco band, contributing to critically acclaimed singles.
In 2016, Adi Oasis began her solo career, releasing her first album, “Adeline,” on November 9, 2018. The years 2020 and 2021 were dedicated to recording new music during the COVID-19 pandemic, resulting in the release of her EP “Interimes” on July 10, 2020, and a remix, “Intérimixed,” on September 11, 2020. A significant collaboration in September 2020 was with Atlantic Records artist KAMAUU on the single ‘Mango,’ which garnered over 10 million YouTube views in its first year. The single ‘Whisper My Name’ followed in January 2021, after a debut on a COLORS SESSION, serving as the lead single for her 7-song EP, “Adi Oasis,” released in September 2021. On April 15, 2021, she officially changed her stage name from Adeline to Adi Oasis.
Her second studio album, “Lotus Glow,” was released on March 3, 2023, marking a significant personal and artistic milestone and her debut under the new stage name. The album received critical acclaim for its introspective nature, artistic growth, and musicality. Adi Oasis has toured globally with artists such as Anderson .Paak, Gregory Porter, JUNGLE, Keyshia Cole, Lee Fields, and Big Freeda. She has performed at major festivals and venues including Central Park Summerstage, Afropunk, Funk on the Rocks (Red Rocks), and the London Jazz Festival. She also played bass in CeeLo Green’s touring band. Beyond music, Adi Oasis is an activist, supporting causes such as abortion rights, anti-racism, and gun control.
