Jorge Álvaro Díaz Rodríguez, known professionally as Álvaro Díaz, is a prominent Puerto Rican rapper and singer-songwriter who has made significant strides in the Latin urbano music scene. His journey began in the vibrant neighborhood of Hato Rey, San Juan, where he honed his skills by participating in rap battles and sharing his music on local forums. Influenced by iconic artists like Eminem, Kanye West, and Kid Cudi, Díaz carved out a unique niche that blends indie music with urban fashion, co-founding the collective LV CIUDVD to further explore these intersections.

Díaz’s breakout came with the release of his single “Chicas de la Isla” in 2015, followed by his debut album, “Hato Rey,” which showcased a rich fusion of genres including soul, funk, and reggaeton. His 2016 EP, “San Juan Grand Prix,” marked a shift towards a more aggressive sound, setting the stage for his evolution as an artist.
