Andre 3000

Andre 3000, a multifaceted artist, has significantly contributed to music as a rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer, while also establishing a notable acting career in film and television. After forming the hip-hop duo Outkast in 1992, André 3000 quickly established himself as a multifaceted artist across music and acting. The duo, initially called 2 Shades Deep before changing to Outkast, signed with LaFace, an imprint of Arista Records, and released their debut album, ‘Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik,’ in 1994. The album achieved platinum certification by the RIAA and earned Outkast recognition as ‘Best New Rap Group of the Year’ at the 1995 Source Awards.

In 2023, he released his debut solo instrumental album, ‘New Blue Sun,’ which garnered widespread attention for its unique flute-playing focus. A track from the album, ‘I Swear, I Really Wanted to Make a ‘Rap’ Album but This Is Literally the Way the Wind Blew Me This Time,’ became the lengthiest track to chart on the Billboard Hot 100. Looking ahead, ‘New Blue Sun’ is nominated for Album of the Year at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards in 2025, the same year André 3000 will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as part of Outkast.
