As It Is was approached by Hopeless Records to be a part of their annual compilation series 'Songs That Saved My Life.' The band covered 'Such Great Heights' for the album, which was released on November 9, 2018. Lead singer Patty Walters also participated in a campaign for the label focused on mental health awareness.
Following a hiatus, As It Is reunited under Slam Dunk Records in 2024. They are set to release 'Never Happy Ever After X' in April 2025 and a compilation album, 'A Decade Uneventful: B-Sides and Rarities (2012-2022),' in November 2024 through the label.
As It Is contributed a cover of Paramore's "The Only Exception" to Rock Sound Presents: Worships and Tributes in 2015, and a cover of Bring Me the Horizon's "Drown" to Rock Sound: Worship and Tributes: Volume II in 2019.

As It Is was formed in Brighton, England, in spring 2012, initiated by Minnesota-born Patty Walters through an online advertisement. He was joined by Andrew Westhead, Patrick Foley, and Benjamin Biss, with Alistair Testo later completing the lineup in early 2014. The band quickly gained local recognition before embarking on UK and European tours following the release of their fourth EP, “This Mind of Mine.” Their early success culminated in signing with Fearless Records in October 2014, becoming the first UK band to join the label. Their debut full-length album, “Never Happy, Ever After,” was released in April 2015, featuring singles like “Dial Tones” and “Concrete.” This period also saw them perform at the 2015 Warped Tour and the Reading and Leeds Festivals.
The band continued to evolve with their second album, “okay.,” released in January 2017. Following the departure of Andrew Westhead in October 2017, As It Is recorded their third album, “The Great Depression,” which was released in August 2018. This album marked a stylistic shift, embracing a more aggressive and theatrical approach, and included singles such as “The Wounded World” and “The Stigma (Boys Don’t Cry).” They also contributed a cover of “Such Great Heights” to Hopeless Records’ “Songs That Saved My Life” compilation in 2018. The London show at the 02 Forum Kentish Town in December 2018 is notable for setting an unofficial world record for crowd surfers. The band further explored the themes of “The Great Depression” with “The Great Depression: Reimagined” in 2019, which saw them adapt the original songs into new genres.
After Benjamin Langford-Biss’s departure in September 2019 and Patrick Foley’s exit in December 2020, the band continued as a trio, releasing their fourth album, “I Went to Hell and Back,” in February 2022, which included singles like “IDGAF” and “I Miss 2003.” Alistair Testo left the band in August 2022, leading to an indefinite hiatus announced by Walters in January 2024. However, in August 2024, the band announced a reunion with its best-known lineup of Walters, Biss, Foley, and Testo, with plans to return in 2025. They are set to release “Never Happy Ever After X,” a re-recorded version of their debut album, in April 2025, and their first single with the reunited lineup, “Lose Your Way & Find Yourself,” in September 2025.
