About

Brothers John (born 1982) and TJ Osborne (born 1984) grew up in Deale, Maryland, in a musical family that frequently performed together. Their early musical experiences included playing in a band named ‘Deuces and a Quarter’ with their father, John Osborne Sr., and assisting him with his plumbing business. After high school, John attended Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee, and TJ followed, leading them to pursue individual careers initially. John worked as a sideman, while TJ played upright bass and wrote material for other artists. They eventually decided to collaborate, forming the duo known as Brothers Osborne.

In 2011, Brothers Osborne signed a publishing contract with Warner-Chappell, followed by a recording contract with EMI Records Nashville in 2012. Their debut single, “Let’s Go There,” was released in 2013 and gained moderate success. In 2014, they released the single “Rum” and a self-titled EP, which positioned them as emerging artists. Their breakthrough came in 2015 with “Stay a Little Longer,” which became a top five hit on the Billboard country chart. This success led to their debut studio album, “Pawn Shop,” in 2016. The album received positive reviews and spawned further hits like “21 Summer” and “It Ain’t My Fault,” earning them multiple industry awards, including CMA and ACM Vocal Duo of the Year in 2016 and 2017. Their song “Younger Me” earned them a Grammy Award for Best Country Duo/Group Performance in 2022.

Brothers Osborne continued their career progression with subsequent albums such as “Port Saint Joe” (2018), “Skeletons” (2020), and their self-titled album “Brothers Osborne” (2023). They have collaborated with notable artists like Dierks Bentley, Maren Morris, and Brooks & Dunn, further expanding their reach. In 2021, TJ Osborne publicly came out as gay, marking a significant moment in country music as the first openly gay artist signed to a major country music label, and inspiring their Grammy-winning song “Younger Me.” John Osborne has also openly discussed his struggles with anxiety and depression, highlighting the personal challenges behind their professional achievements. These experiences have contributed to their public profile and the themes explored in their music.
