Chris Stapleton transitioned from a prolific Nashville songwriter to a Grammy-winning recording artist, known for his unique blend of country, soul, and rock. After signing with Sea Gayle Music as a full-time songwriter in 2001, Chris Stapleton quickly established himself as a prolific and versatile writer, penning over a thousand songs in the subsequent decade. His remarkable talent led to six number-one singles on the Hot Country Songs chart for other artists, including Kenny Chesney’s ‘Never Wanted Nothing More’ in 2007 and Luke Bryan’s ‘Drink a Beer’ in 2014, which Stapleton co-wrote. Transitioning to a performing artist, he joined the bluegrass group, the SteelDrivers, in 2006 as lead singer, guitarist, and songwriter, contributing to two hit records before his departure in 2010.
In 2019, Stapleton was honored as ACM’s Artist-Songwriter of the Decade, recognizing his dual impact on the industry. His artistry continued to reach massive audiences, highlighted by his performance of the national anthem at Super Bowl LVII in 2023. Throughout his illustrious career, Chris Stapleton has amassed an impressive array of accolades, including eleven Grammy Awards, eleven Academy of Country Music Awards, and fifteen Country Music Association Awards, cementing his status as one of country music’s most celebrated and influential figures.
