Classified

Classified, born Luke Boyd, has forged a distinctive career as a Canadian hip-hop artist and record producer, consistently releasing new music and collaborating with other artists. After releasing his first full-length LP, ‘Time’s Up, Kid,’ in 1995 under Half Life Records, Classified independently released eight studio albums, establishing his presence as a Canadian hip-hop artist. His ninth album, ‘Trial & Error’ (2003), secured nationwide distribution with Toronto-based URBNET Records and became one of Canada’s highest-selling independent rap albums in 2004. Featuring collaborations with Canadian artists Eternia, DL Incognito, and Maestro, its success was amplified by VideoFACT-supported music videos for ‘Just the Way It Is’ and ‘Unexpected.’ Classified also opened for prominent international artists including Ludacris and Snoop Dogg.

His single ‘Good News’ was certified Gold in Canada in 2020. In 2017, he notably co-wrote and produced Ria Mae’s ‘Thoughts On Fire.’ Classified expanded his creative output in 2021 with his memoir, ‘Classified: Off the Beat ‘N Path.’ He followed this with ‘Retrospected (Acoustic)’ in 2022 and his most recent album, ‘Luke’s View,’ in 2024.
