About

Coro, born in New York City, is an American Latin freestyle singer of Cuban and Dominican heritage. He began his career with acting roles, appearing in various episodes of the television series *Miami Vice*. While engaged in acting, Coro worked to establish a music career. His initial attempts to form a musical group did not materialize successfully. In 1987, Coro met Stevie B, who was gaining recognition with a successful hit record and preparing for a tour. Coro subsequently joined Stevie B as a backup vocalist and dancer during his tour. Following this experience, Coro relocated from Miami back to his native Manhattan to pursue a solo singing career.

In 1989, Coro collaborated with freestyle music producers Zahid Tariq, Ziggy Gonzalez, and Todd Terry. His first single, “Where Are You Tonight,” released that year, gained popularity as a dance song in both New York and Miami. This track reached the Top 25 on Billboard’s club chart, leading to Coro performing shows in dance clubs across the country. His self-titled debut album was released in 1991, featuring collaborations with producers Zahid Tariq and Ziggy Gonzalez. The album included uptempo dance tracks such as “Can’t Let You Go,” “Where Are You Tonight,” and “My Fallen Angel,” alongside ballads like “Missing You.” The album reached number 10 on the U.S. Heat (Northeast) chart.

Throughout his career, Coro has continued to release singles and maintain his presence in the freestyle music scene. Notable singles include “Can’t Let You Go” (1990), “My Fallen Angel” (1991), and “Stand by Your Lover” (1993). His career demonstrates a consistent engagement with the freestyle music genre, marked by collaborations with established producers and a series of chart appearances in the dance music sector. His work has contributed to the Latin freestyle music landscape, with his songs being recognized for their distinctive sound and vocal performances.
