American rock band, Daughtry, is best known for having been a finalist on the American Idol, fifth season. After Chris Daughtry’s appearance on American Idol, he was able to create the band Daughtry and sign with 19 Entertainment and RCA Records. Individually, Chris Daughtry works with other artists like Luve’s Ed Kowalczyk, Seether’s, Shaun Morgan, Goo Goo Dolls, John Rzeznik, Fuel’s, 3 Doors Down, Nickelback, and many more. Daughtry released their first album, self-titled, in 2006 and it reached number one on the Billboard 200. It reached so much success, that it sold over 6 million copies in the United States and was certified sextuple platinum by the RIAAA. In 2017, album Daughtry was announced the best selling album by Billboard, and it became the fastest selling debut rock album in the Nielsen SoundScan history. Four of the tracks from Daughtry made it to top 20 hits on Billboard Hot 100. Daughtry released their second album in 2009, titled Leave This Town. Again, Daughtry broke records, and made at number one on the Billboard 200 chart. Daughtry was again certified platinum by RIAA for Leave This Town, which sold over 1.3 million copies in the United States. Daughtry’s single No Surprise from Leave This Town, became the bands fifth top 20 hit on the Billboard Hot 100. Daughtry released their third album in 2011, titled Break the Spell, and it successfully made it on the top 10 Billboard 200 chart, and received Gold by the RIAA. After releasing their fourth album, Baptized, Daughtry became a band that sold over 9 million albums and over 25.6 million digital tracks in the United States.
