About

Halestorm, an American rock band from Red Lion, Pennsylvania, was founded by siblings Lzzy Hale and Arejay Hale in 1997. Lzzy (lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist) and Arejay (drums, percussion, backing vocals) began writing and performing original music at ages 13 and 10, respectively. Lzzy started piano at five, later moving to keytar and guitar. In their early years, their father, Roger Hale, played bass. The band released two EPs, “Forecast for the Future” in 1997 and “(Don’t Mess With The) Time Man” in 1999. Joe Hottinger joined on lead guitar in 2003, and Josh Smith replaced Roger Hale on bass in 2004, solidifying the current lineup.

The group signed with Atlantic Records in 2005, releasing the live EP “One and Done” in 2006. Their self-titled debut album, “Halestorm,” came out in 2009, featuring singles “I Get Off” and “It’s Not You.” In 2010, they released the live CD/DVD “Live in Philly 2010.” Their second album, “The Strange Case Of…” (2012), marked a significant milestone with its lead single “Love Bites (So Do I)” winning a Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance in 2013, making them the first female-fronted band to win in this category. The band is recognized for their extensive touring schedule, often performing up to 250 shows annually, and has sold out their first headlining arena show in 2016. Their third album, “Into the Wild Life” (2015), reached number five on the Billboard 200, followed by “Vicious” (2018) which debuted at number eight, marking their second top 10 record.

Halestorm continued to evolve with the EP “Reimagined” in 2020, featuring collaborations and covers, including Amy Lee of Evanescence and Dolly Parton. Their fifth studio album, “Back from the Dead,” was released in 2022, and a deluxe edition followed the same year. The band embarked on a successful 2023 tour, including a sold-out show at Wembley Arena. In 2024, they released a collaborative song with I Prevail, “Can U See Me in the Dark?,” and a reimagined version of Brooks & Dunn’s “Boot Scootin’ Boogie.” Their sixth album, “Everest,” was released in August 2025, supported by tours in North America and Europe, and opening for Iron Maiden and Black Sabbath.
