Further Seems Forever

Further Seems Forever is an American indie rock and emo band known for its evolving vocalists and consistent musical output across multiple record labels. After forming in 1998 with a lineup featuring guitarists Josh Colbert and Nick Dominguez, bassist Chad Neptune, drummer Steve Kleisath, and original vocalist Chris Carrabba, Further Seems Forever quickly established itself within the indie rock and emo scenes. The band released their debut EP, ‘From the 27th State,’ in 1999 through Takehold Records. Their early success led to a signing with Tooth & Nail Records, under which they released their seminal debut album, ‘The Moon Is Down,’ in 2001, recorded with Carrabba before his departure to focus on Dashboard Confessional.

Further Seems Forever reunited in August 2010 with original vocalist Chris Carrabba, leading to the release of their highly anticipated fourth studio album, ‘Penny Black,’ in 2012 through Rise Records. In 2015, Jason Gleason rejoined the band, subsequently performing with the Gleason-era lineup at Furnace Fest in the fall of 2021, showcasing the band’s enduring appeal across different vocal eras. A significant milestone occurred in February 2022 when the original lineup, including Carrabba, reunited to celebrate the 20-year anniversary of their iconic debut album, ‘The Moon Is Down.’ Most recently, Further Seems Forever continues its legacy in the rock music landscape, having signed with Iodine Recordings in February 2024. This new partnership underscores the band’s ongoing commitment to creating and releasing music, signaling a fresh chapter for the influential group.
