Highasakite is a celebrated indie pop and indie rock band from Norway, known for their innovative sound and captivating performances. The band was formed in 2010 when vocalist and songwriter Ingrid Helene Håvik met drummer Trond Bersu at the Trondheim Jazz Conservatory. Their collaboration quickly blossomed into a full-fledged musical project, leading to the release of their debut album, “All That Floats Will Rain,” in February 2012. This album showcased their unique blend of genres and reached #16 on the Norwegian Albums Chart, establishing them as a promising new act in the music scene.
Following their debut, Highasakite achieved significant acclaim with their second album, “Silent Treatment,” released in February 2014. The album soared to #1 on the Norwegian Albums Chart and was recognized as the second-best album of the year by Norwegian music critics. Their extensive touring, including performances with the renowned band Of Monsters and Men, further solidified their reputation. The band received multiple accolades, including the “Pop Group of the Year Award” at the Spellemannprisen, Norway’s equivalent of the Grammy Awards, highlighting their impact on the music industry.
In 2016, Highasakite released their third album, “Camp Echo,” which featured the critically acclaimed single “Someone Who’ll Get it.” Their participation in prestigious events, such as the Nobel Peace Prize Concert, showcased their growing prominence. The album was shortlisted for the Album of the Year Award by IMPALA, underscoring their artistic excellence.
The band’s fourth studio album, “Uranium Heart,” was released in February 2019, followed by the two-part mini album “The Bare Romantic” in 2019 and 2020. With each release, Highasakite continues to push creative boundaries, earning nominations for various awards and maintaining a strong presence in the Norwegian music scene.
