Jess Glynne

Jessica Hannah Glynne, born on October 20, 1989, in Hampstead, London, rose to prominence in the music industry during 2014. Her early career involved working various jobs and traveling, before focusing on music. She attended a month-long music course at Access to Music London, where she met future collaborators, songwriter Jin Jin and producer Bless Beats. One of her compositions attracted the attention of Black Butter Records, leading to a publishing deal. In August 2013, Glynne signed with Atlantic Records.

Glynne achieved significant success as a featured artist in 2014. She collaborated with Route 94 on “My Love” and with Clean Bandit on “Rather Be,” both of which reached number one on the UK Singles Chart. “Rather Be” earned her a Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording in 2015. Her debut solo single, “Right Here,” released in July 2014, charted at number six in the UK. She performed at various British music festivals and collaborated on songwriting projects with artists such as Little Mix, Rudimental, and Tinie Tempah. Her first solo UK number one came in March 2015 with “Hold My Hand.” Also in 2015, her feature on Tinie Tempah’s “Not Letting Go” also reached number one, bringing her total UK number one singles to four.

In August 2015, Glynne released her debut studio album, “I Cry When I Laugh,” which debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart and later received a triple Platinum certification. In October 2018, her second studio album, “Always In Between,” also reached number one in the UK. This album included the singles “I’ll Be There,” “These Days,” “All I Am,” “Thursday,” and “One Touch.” “I’ll Be There” made Glynne the first British female solo artist to have seven number one singles on the UK Singles Chart. After parting with Atlantic Records, she signed with EMI Records and released her third studio album, “Jess,” in 2024. She was honored with the BRIT Billion Award for achieving over 1 billion streams in the UK.
