Jessica Lynn, born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1990, developed an early passion for music, forming her first band at the age of thirteen. She also pursued academic qualifications, earning a bachelor’s degree in adolescent education and mathematics and a master’s degree in special education from Pace University, graduating with honors. Despite encountering difficulties within the music industry as a teenager, including a record deal falling through, Lynn maintained her focus on both her academic pursuits and musical aspirations. Her proficiency in piano, guitar, and drums, alongside her songwriting abilities, became foundational to her career.
Lynn’s career gained significant momentum through various performances and collaborations. In her early teens, she penned “Your Favorite Stranger,” a song about Alzheimer’s disease, which led to her becoming an ASCAP writer. This song was performed on her father’s PBS television special, “Cal – Forever and Beyond…Live In Concert,” a highly-ranked PBS production. In 2014, Lynn starred in her own PBS special, “Jessica Lynn: This Much Fun – Live from the Winery at St. George,” and performed at prominent festivals like Country Jam USA, Headwaters Country Jam, and the Taste of Country Festival. That same year, she signed with Round Hill Music, collaborating with influential Nashville songwriters and producers such as Clay Mills, Wade Kirby, and Bryan White.
Her career progression continued with extensive touring and charting success. In 2015, Lynn embarked on a nationwide tour supporting her second PBS special, opening for artists including Keith Urban, Thompson Square, and Clint Black, and touring with Jo Dee Messina. Her debut single “Not Your Woman” reached No. 1 on the Iceman’s chart in 2016. International tours followed, with performances in Europe, opening for ZZ Top and appearing alongside Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Loretta Lynn. Her singles “Crazy Idea” and “Let’s Don’t” charted on Nashville’s Music Row, reaching No. 48 and No. 38, respectively. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Lynn adapted by conducting numerous livestream concerts, earning recognition on Pollstar’s Top Livestreamers lists in 2020 and 2021. Her debut studio album, “Lone Rider,” released in 2022, achieved commercial success, topping Amazon Music charts in the USA and UK and charting on iTunes globally, establishing her as an independent artist in the Top Current Country Albums Chart by Music Connect / Billboard.
