Jewel

Jewel, an American singer-songwriter with over 30 million albums sold worldwide, first garnered widespread attention with her debut album, ‘Pieces of You.’ Released in 1995 following her signing with Atlantic Records in 1993, the album became one of the best-selling debut albums of all time, selling over 12 million copies in the United States alone by 1997. It featured international hit singles such as ‘Who Will Save Your Soul,’ ‘You Were Meant for Me,’ and ‘Foolish Games.’ Building on this immense success, Jewel released her second studio album, ‘Spirit,’ in 1998, which sold 3.7 million units in the U.S. and included the popular single ‘Hands.’ That same year, she performed the national anthem at Super Bowl XXXII and published her critically acclaimed poetry collection, ‘A Night Without Armor.’ Jewel diversified her career with her acting debut in Ang Lee’s Western film, ‘Ride with the Devil,’ in 1999, earning praise for her performance. She continued to expand her literary work with the memoir ‘Chasing Down the Dawn’ in 2000.

In 2024, she created a unique, museum-wide show titled ‘The Portal: An Art Experience by Jewel’ at the Crystal Bridges Museum and joined Olivia Rodrigo for a special performance at Madison Square Garden. Throughout her career, Jewel has consistently leveraged her platform to advocate for mental health and wellness, co-founding the nonprofit organization Higher Ground for Humanity, focused on education and sustainable improvements.
