Aly Spaltro, known professionally as Lady Lamb, began her musical journey in 2007 in Brunswick, Maine. While working at a local video rental store, Bart & Greg’s DVD Explosion, she used her night shifts to experiment with and record music. These initial home recordings were then distributed in handmade packages to the Bullmoose Record Store in Brunswick, marking her early efforts in sharing her music. Her early self-released albums include “The Tingly Circus” (2007), “Someday We Will Levitate” (2008), “Samples for Handsome Animals” (2008), “Mammoth Swoon” (2010), and “head is swimming (2012 bedroom recordings)”.
In 2010, Spaltro relocated to Brooklyn, New York. Two years later, in 2012, she collaborated with producer Nadim Issa at Let Em In Music in Gowanus, Brooklyn, to record her debut studio album, “Ripely Pine.” This album was officially released on February 19, 2013, through Ba Da Bing Records. Following this, she continued her collaboration with Issa, recording and co-producing her sophomore album, “After,” in 2014, which was released on March 3, 2015, under Mom + Pop Music after signing with them late that year. Her commitment to independent artistry was further showcased in December 2016 with the release of the seven-track self-produced EP, “Tender Warriors Club,” recorded at Kristian Matsson’s home studio in Sweden.
Lady Lamb released her third studio album, “Even in the Tremor,” in 2019, co-produced with Erin Tonkon, returning to Ba Da Bing Records. Her career highlights also include touring with indie-rock acts and releasing a self-produced box set, “In The Mammoth Nothing of The Night,” in 2023, which commemorated ten years since her first studio record. Her consistent output of music and live performances, including socially distanced shows on her property in Maine, demonstrate her dedication to her artistic practice and connection with her audience.
