Loveless

Loveless, an emo-pop project formed in 2019 in Los Angeles, California, by musicians Julian Comeau and Dylan Tirapelli-Jamail, quickly gained recognition for its distinctive sound. The duo combined elements of emo, pop-punk, hardcore, and power pop, releasing early singles such as “Better” and “Someone Else.” The latter featured Kellin Quinn from Sleeping with Sirens, appearing on their debut album, “Loveless 1,” in May 2021. Their strategic utilization of social media platforms, particularly TikTok, played a significant role in their rise to prominence.

The band achieved viral success through pop-punk covers of trending songs, including “Middle of the Night” by Elley Duhé and “Running Up That Hill” by Kate Bush. These covers not only garnered millions of streams but also secured Loveless their first chart placement at number 17 on Billboard’s Hot Digital Singles with “Middle of the Night” in 2022. This digital engagement translated into broader recognition, leading to regular features on SiriusXM’s Octane and Kerrang Radio. They signed global recordings partnerships with BMG and Rise Records in 2023, marking a significant step in their career progression.

Following their success with covers, Loveless shifted focus to original music, releasing the EP “End of an era” in September 2022. This EP featured seven original tracks and two covers, signifying a move towards establishing their original sound while acknowledging their roots. In 2024, the band announced their sophomore album, “Loveless II,” alongside a North American tour. However, the tour and album release were suspended due to domestic abuse allegations against Julian Comeau, leading to the departure of Dylan Tirapelli-Jamail and the project continuing as a solo venture by Comeau, with a new single “Step Back” released in 2025.
