Achieving a number one hit on the Gaon Digital Chart with ‘Back in Time’ for the 2012 drama ‘Moon Embracing the Sun’ original soundtrack, South Korean singer-songwriter Lyn sold over three million copies of the track. This significant milestone followed her re-debut in 2002 under the stage name Lyn with the album ‘Have You Ever Had Heart Broken?’, which featured the breakthrough single ‘Have You Ever Been Hurt By Love?’. Her earlier debut in 2001 with ‘My First Confession’ under her birth name did not achieve commercial success. Lyn quickly solidified her presence in the music industry, releasing her third album ‘Can U See The Bright’ in 2004, which included the hit single ‘We Were in Love.’ Subsequent success continued with ‘The Pride of the Morning’ in 2007, which became the second best-selling album of March that year.
Demonstrating her progression towards greater artistic autonomy, Lyn established her own music label, COMPANY919, in October 2015, following the conclusion of her contract with MUSIC&NEW. She continued her prolific work in soundtracks, contributing ‘Just One Day’ for the drama ‘Mask’ in 2015, ‘With You’ for ‘Descendants of the Sun’ in 2016, and ‘Love Story’ for ‘The Legend of the Blue Sea’ also in 2016, further cementing her reputation as a leading voice in Korean drama OSTs. In 2018, Lyn signed with 325 E&C and released her highly anticipated album ‘#10’. The same year, she collaborated with Hanhae on the song ‘LOVE’ for the ‘Are You Human?’ original soundtrack, adding another notable project to her extensive filmography of successful contributions to Korean television.
