Maxim Adam Bemis is an American musician and songwriter, recognized as the lead singer and primary songwriter for the rock band Say Anything. He is also a comic book writer for Marvel Comics and performs in the supergroup Two Tongues and the project Perma. After forming the rock band Say Anything in 2000, Max Bemis, as lead singer and primary songwriter, released two EPs and the full-length album ‘Baseball’ within two years. The band signed with Doghouse Records in 2003, releasing the critically acclaimed album ‘…Is a Real Boy’ in 2004, for which Bemis contributed vocals, guitar, bass, and keyboard.
In 2018, Bemis announced the disbandment of Say Anything, followed by the release of their eighth LP, ‘Oliver Appropriate,’ in 2019. However, the band reunited in 2022, signaling a new chapter. In parallel, Bemis launched his solo project Maxim Mental, releasing ‘Maxim Mental in Maximalism’ in 2022. Most recently, Say Anything released their latest album, ‘…Is Committed,’ in 2024, supported by a highly anticipated 20th anniversary tour for their seminal album, ‘…Is a Real Boy,’ underscoring Bemis’s enduring impact and continuous evolution as a multifaceted artist and writer.
