About

Janice Sue Meghan Myers, known professionally as Meg Myers, was born on October 6, 1986, in Nashville, Tennessee. She spent her early years in the Smoky Mountains, raised by her father, a truck driver, and her mother. Following her parents’ divorce, her mother remarried, and the family moved to Ohio before relocating to Florida when Myers was 12. During her teenage years, she was homeschooled and began developing her musical skills, learning piano, writing songs, and teaching herself guitar. She also played in a band called Feeling Numb with her brother in Coral Springs, Florida. At the age of 20, Myers moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in music, supporting herself through waitressing and performing at local venues.

In Los Angeles, Myers met producer Doctor Rosen Rosen, who signed her and collaborated on her early work. In March 2012, she released her debut EP, “Daughter in the Choir,” which gained attention for its single “Monster.” Later that year, she signed with Atlantic Records, leading to the release of the “Make a Shadow” EP in 2014 and her first full-length album, “Sorry,” in 2015. “Sorry” debuted at number 79 on the Billboard 200, with its title track reaching number 17 on the Alternative Songs chart.

Myers continued to evolve her sound and career trajectory. In 2018, she released her second album, “Take Me to the Disco,” after parting ways with Atlantic Records and signing with 300 Entertainment. This album marked a collaboration with producer Christian “Leggy” Langdon and featured tracks like “Numb.” In 2019, her cover of Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill” gained significant traction, ultimately reaching number one on the Alternative charts. She later moved to Sumerian Records, under which she released two EPs in 2020, “Thank U 4 Taking Me 2 The Disco” and “I’d Like 2 Go Home Now.” Her third studio album, “TZIA,” was released in March 2023.
