MercyMe is a prominent American contemporary Christian music band that originated in Edmond, Oklahoma, in 1994. The band, consisting of lead vocalist Bart Millard, percussionist Robby Shaffer, bassist Nathan Cochran, and guitarists Michael Scheuchzer and Barry Graul, began their journey by releasing six independent albums before signing with INO Records in 2001.
