Paperplane Pursuit

Formed in 2009 from the remnants of Silent Scream, Paperplane Pursuit emerged onto the Malaysian music scene, crafting infectious pop melodies that have since become synonymous with mainstream radio. Based in Kuala Lumpur, the quartet consists of John O, the charismatic lead vocalist; Dru Yap, the rhythmic heartbeat on drums; Isaac Ravi, the master of strings on guitar; and The Chief, laying down the grooves on bass.

Their journey began with the self-made debut album “Malaysia 2.0” in 2011, followed by the equally successful “Higher” in 2014, both showcasing their knack for creating upbeat, radio-friendly tunes. The band’s DIY ethos extends beyond just music, as they independently produce their own tracks, music videos, and even run their own studio, led by the visionary John O.

Paperplane Pursuit’s rise to fame has been marked by chart-topping success on Malaysian radio stations like Hitz Fm, Fly Fm, and Red Fm. Their singles, including “What If,” “Beat of Your Love,” and “Feel Good,” have all enjoyed the coveted number one spot on Hitz Fm’s Met 10, a testament to their dedicated fanbase, affectionately known as Paperazzi.

Internationally, their single “Feel Good” even graced the Billboard charts in the United States, solidifying their status as a global pop sensation. Over the years, they’ve graced stages at prestigious events like the H-artistry festival and the SHOUT! Awards, earning accolades such as the August Man Malaysia Men of The Year Awards for their musical prowess.
