Peter Murphy is an English singer and songwriter, recognized as the vocalist for the post-punk band Bauhaus, and has since established a notable solo career. After co-founding the seminal post-punk band Bauhaus in 1978 with Daniel Ash, Peter Murphy quickly became recognized as a pivotal figure in the goth movement, known for his distinctive baritone voice and theatrical aesthetics. With Bauhaus, Murphy appeared in the 1983 horror film The Hunger, performing their iconic track ‘Bela Lugosi’s Dead’. Following Bauhaus’s disbandment in 1983, he explored acting and dance before forming Dalis Car with Mick Karn in 1984, releasing their sole album, The Waking Hour.
