Prince Daddy & the Hyena is an American punk rock band from Albany, New York, formed in 2014. The band emerged from the creative synergy of Kory Gregory, Alex Ziembiec, and Zakariya Houacine, who were inspired by the live performance of Rozwell Kid. Their debut extended play, “Skip Cutscenes! Blow Loud!” set the stage for their unique sound, which blends elements of punk rock, power pop, and emo. In 2016, they released their first full-length album, “I Thought You Didn’t Even Like Leaving,” showcasing their songwriting prowess and establishing their presence in the punk rock scene.
In 2019, the band released their second full-length album, “Cosmic Thrill Seekers,” through Counter Intuitive Records. This album was met with critical acclaim and led to extensive touring, including a European tour with Oso Oso. Despite facing challenges such as a traffic accident and theft of equipment, the band persevered, demonstrating resilience and dedication to their craft. Their ability to connect with audiences during live performances solidified their reputation as a dynamic live act.
The band’s self-titled third album, released in 2022 under Pure Noise Records, marked a significant evolution in their sound, exploring deeper themes such as the fear of death. Supported by singles like “Curly Q” and “A Random Exercise In Impermanence (The Collector),” the album further showcased their artistic growth and emotional depth.
With a lineup that includes Kory Gregory, Cameron Hanford, Daniel Gorham, and Jordan Chmielowski, Prince Daddy & the Hyena continues to push boundaries in the punk rock genre.
