Pedro Luis Domínguez Quevedo, professionally known as Quevedo, was born on December 7, 2001, in Madrid, Spain. At the age of one, he moved to Brazil, returning to Spain at five years old to settle in Las Palmas, Canary Islands. His early exposure to freestyle rap and the local hip-hop scene, supported by HH Canarias, ignited his passion for music, even though he chose not to participate in official competitions, preferring to freestyle with close acquaintances. Quevedo launched his music career in 2020, collaborating with producer Linton. His early tracks like “Cayó La Noche,” “No Me Digas Nada,” and “Universitaria” quickly established him as a local artist to watch within the Gran Canaria music scene.
A significant turning point in Quevedo’s career came with his collaboration with Argentine producer Bizarrap. Their “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 52” was released in July 2022 and rapidly achieved global success, reaching No. 1 on both the Billboard Global 200 and the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts. This track also became only the second fully Spanish-language song to top the Global 200 in the chart’s history, accumulating 88.3 million streams shortly after its release. This success led to Quevedo being named Spotify’s Global RADAR artist, an initiative that spotlights emerging international acts. His debut album, “Donde Quiero Estar,” released in January 2023, continued this momentum, achieving commercial success and earning multiple platinum certifications in Spain. He has since continued to release music and collaborate with various artists.
Quevedo’s work has earned him several accolades, including winning the Latin Grammy Award for Best Urban Song in 2023 for “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 52.” He has consistently topped national charts, with twelve number-one songs in Spain and twelve other singles ranking in the top 10. His ability to blend reggaeton, Latin pop, and Latin trap elements, coupled with his narrative style, has resonated with a broad audience. He has established himself not only as a hitmaker but also as an artist committed to musical exploration, exemplified by his continued work on new projects such as his second studio album and various single releases throughout 2024 and 2025.
