With their breakout hit ‘If I Die Young’ reaching number one on both the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Songs and Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks charts and achieving 9x multi-platinum certification, The Band Perry swiftly ascended to prominence in country music. Formed in 2005, the band initially featured Kimberly Perry (lead vocals, guitar) along with her brothers Neil and Reid Perry. After being discovered by Garth Brooks’ manager, Bob Doyle, in 2008, the group signed with Republic Nashville in August 2009.
Their debut single, ‘Hip to My Heart,’ released in 2009, peaked at No. 20 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. The band’s self-titled debut album, released in October 2010, also included other successful singles such as ‘You Lie,’ which reached No. 2 in 2011, ‘All Your Life,’ a number one hit in February 2012, and ‘Postcard from Paris,’ which peaked at No.
During this time, Kimberly Perry launched her solo career, releasing her EP ‘Bloom’ in 2023. The Band Perry reunited in 2025, marking their return to country music by re-signing with Nashville Harbor Records & Entertainment (formerly BMLG). The reunion also saw a significant lineup change, with Kimberly’s husband, Johnny Costello, replacing Neil Perry, and Reid Perry subsequently departing the band. This current iteration of The Band Perry continues to build upon their multi-platinum legacy, emphasizing their country roots.
