Tin Zar Maw

Tin Zar Maw was born on February 7, 1976, in Rangoon, Burma. Her career in music began in the mid-1990s. In 1993, she won a singing contest organized by U Saw Nu, sharing the victory with Sithu Lwin. Following this success, she released her debut album, “Swe Lan Hmu Pyat Tha Na,” in 1995. Two years later, in 1997, she launched her second album, “Kyin Nar Thu Hna Oo Sone Naing Yin,” which garnered her initial recognition from the public. These early achievements established her presence in the Burmese music scene.

Tin Zar Maw continued to build her career, releasing her third album, “A Chit Kyaung Thu,” in 1999. This period also saw her participation in collaborative projects, including the trio album “Thone Yauk Zaga” with Htun Eaindra Bo and Madi. This album achieved significant commercial success, topping the album charts. She later collaborated with Htun Eaindra Bo again on the duo album “Myetsi Hmeit-pi Chit Laik Pa.” In 2016, Tin Zar Maw performed her first solo concert, “My Birthday (Kou Mway Nei),” at the Myanmar Convention Centre in Yangon on February 6th. The following year, on February 7, 2017, she released her seventh studio album, “Seven,” after a hiatus. Her involvement as a judge on “Myanmar Idol” since its second season further solidified her status in the entertainment industry. In recognition of her work, her album “Seven” received two City FM Awards in 2018 for “Best Selling Female Stereo Album” and “Best Selling Album of the Year.”
