Wisin

Juan Luis Morera Luna, known professionally as Wisin, was born on December 19, 1978, in Cayey, Puerto Rico. He rose to prominence as one half of the iconic reggaeton duo Wisin & Yandel. Their musical journey began in the late 1990s, leading to their debut album, “Los Reyes del Nuevo Milenio,” in 2000. The duo achieved mainstream success with their 2005 album, “Pa’l Mundo.” Wisin further expanded his career by establishing his own label, WY Records. Wisin’s distinct sound and energetic performances have contributed to his enduring presence in the reggaeton genre for over two decades.

Wisin has also pursued a successful solo career, releasing his first solo album, “El Sobreviviente,” in 2004. After a hiatus from the duo in 2013, he released his second solo studio album, “El Regreso del Sobreviviente,” in 2014. Throughout his career, Wisin has engaged in various collaborations with notable artists, bridging different styles and expanding his musical reach. His work has not only garnered commercial success but also critical acclaim, reflected in numerous awards and nominations.

Beyond music, Wisin has ventured into television, serving as a coach on “La Voz” (U.S.) in 2019 and a judge on “La Banda” in 2016 and “Talento FOX” in 2018. His involvement in these programs highlights his influence and expertise within the Latin music industry. Wisin & Yandel reunited in 2018, releasing “Los Campeones del Pueblo / The Big Leagues,” further solidifying their legacy. His career demonstrates a consistent evolution and adaptability, maintaining his status as a key figure in reggaeton.
