Woozi

Woozi is a South Korean singer, songwriter, and record producer recognised for his significant contributions to K-pop. After debuting on May 26, 2015, as a member of the self-producing boy band Seventeen with the single ‘Adore U,’ Woozi quickly established himself as a prominent force in K-pop. From the outset, he played a central role in the group’s musical output, contributing to the writing and production of every track on their debut extended play, 17 Carat. He became Seventeen’s primary producer alongside frequent collaborator Bumzu, being credited for composing and writing over 80% of the group’s extensive discography by January 2019.

His significant contributions were formally recognized with his induction as a full member of the Korea Music Copyright Association in 2019. Expanding his influence beyond Seventeen, Woozi has also composed for other notable K-pop artists, including NU’EST W, Ailee, and I.O.I. His acclaimed solo career commenced on January 3, 2022, with the release of his first mixtape, ‘Ruby.’ The lead single, an entirely English-language track, achieved international chart success, reaching number one on iTunes in multiple regions worldwide. This widespread recognition followed his achievement as the youngest recipient of the Best Producer award at the 6th Asia Artist Awards in 2021, solidifying his reputation as a prolific and impactful producer.
