Yul Vazquez

Yul Vazquez earned a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actor in a Play for his critically acclaimed performance as Cousin Julio in the Broadway production of The Motherfucker with the Hat (2011). His diverse career began as a lead guitarist in the 1980s, notably for melodic rock bands Urgent and Diving for Pearls. Urgent achieved a #79 position on the Billboard Hot 100 with their single ‘Running Back’ and contributed ‘Love Can Make You Cry’ to the Iron Eagle soundtrack. Vazquez made his acting debut as Flaco in the 1992 film The Mambo Kings and is a founding member and former co-artistic director of the acclaimed LAByrinth Theater Company in New York City, where his stage work includes The Last Days of Judas Iscariot, directed by Philip Seymour Hoffman, and Terrence McNally’s The Stendhal Syndrome.

Vazquez continues to engage in diverse projects, with upcoming appearances slated for the miniseries Hotel Cocaine (2024) and the highly anticipated film The Lost Bus (2025). He consistently maintains his musical pursuits, balancing his acclaimed acting career with his ongoing passion for music.
