A.J. Bouye

Arlandus Jacob Bouye, born on August 16, 1991, in Tucker, Georgia, began his football journey at Tucker High School before attending the University of Central Florida (UCF) from 2009 to 2012. As a UCF Knight, Bouye demonstrated consistent performance as a defensive back. In his freshman year (2009), he recorded 10 tackles and one pass defended across six games. His role expanded significantly in his sophomore season (2010), tallying 26 tackles, an interception returned for a 42-yard touchdown against Marshall, and eight passes defended. During his junior year (2011), Bouye played in seven games, contributing 21 tackles, two interceptions, and five passes defensed. His senior year (2012) was particularly notable, with 53 tackles, three interceptions, 11 passes defensed, a fumble recovery, and a forced fumble, including an impressive 76-yard pick-six against Tulsa.

Bouye’s professional career in the NFL began in 2013 when he was signed by the Houston Texans as an undrafted free agent. Despite an injury-shortened rookie season, he quickly established himself. By 2014, he earned his first career start, recorded his first NFL interception and touchdown, and concluded the season with 59 combined tackles and three interceptions. His breakout year came in 2016, where he amassed 63 tackles, 16 pass deflections, and an interception, earning high praise from Pro Football Focus. This performance led to a significant five-year, $67.5 million contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2017, where he continued to excel. In 2017, he made his first Pro Bowl appearance and was named Second-team All-Pro, achieving career highs with 56 tackles, 18 pass deflections, and six interceptions.

Following his impactful tenure with the Jaguars, Bouye played for the Denver Broncos in 2020 and the Carolina Panthers in 2021. Throughout his career, he accumulated 366 total tackles, 14 interceptions, 75 pass deflections, and 1.0 sack while playing in 110 regular-season games. Beyond the field, A.J. Bouye has actively engaged in business, founding Bouye Holdings LLC in August 2019 and becoming a board member for Gaiamer Technologies in November 2019, demonstrating his strategic vision and transition into the entrepreneurial landscape.
