Aamir Khan

Aamir Khan has established himself as a prominent figure in Indian cinema, recognized for his acting, filmmaking, and commitment to social issues. After his acclaimed breakthrough with Mansoor Khan’s directorial debut, Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (1988), earning him a Best Male Debut Filmfare Award and a National Film Award – Special Jury Award / Special Mention in 1989, Aamir Khan established himself in Indian cinema. His meticulous approach solidified his position as a leading actor with commercial hits like Dil (1990), Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke (1993) – with his first screenwriting credit – and Raja Hindustani (1996). The latter won him a Filmfare Award for Best Actor and was the third highest-grossing Indian film of the decade.

Khan was also honored with the Padma Bhushan by the Government of India in 2010 and recognized in the Time 100 list of most influential people in 2013 for his impactful television talk show, Satyamev Jayate (2012–2014). Khan continued his unprecedented box office dominance with Dhoom 3 (2013) and PK (2014), both became highest-grossing Bollywood films of all time upon release. In 2016, his film Dangal became the highest-grossing Bollywood film domestically and achieved global acclaim as the highest-grossing non-Hollywood foreign film in China in 2017, expanding his international influence. For Dangal, he received the Filmfare Award for Best Actor and Best Film in 2017.

He continues to be a vocal advocate, collaborating with organizations like UNICEF and co-founding the Paani Foundation to address drought prevention in Maharashtra, combining artistic integrity with social consciousness.
